In the African savanna, a mother zebra attempts to cross a river with her foal but is ambushed by a massive Nile crocodile. The crocodile latches onto her leg, dragging her into the water, but after a fierce struggle, she manages to break free and escape onto the riverbank.
Unfortunately, an opportunistic leopard, hiding in the bushes, seizes the moment and attacks the exhausted zebra, swiftly delivering a fatal bite. As the leopard begins to devour its kill, the crocodile, unwilling to give up, charges out of the water to reclaim the prize. A tense standoff ensues, with the two predators circling each other in a battle for dominance.
However, the rocky terrain prevents the crocodile from securing the carcass, forcing it to retreat, leaving the victorious leopard with its meal. The dramatic encounter, captured by photographer Konrad Wothe, serves as a stark reminder of the relentless fight for survival in the wild.
