An impressive scene was recorded by the King of Serpents, Harold Bauer. A river snake bit a bat ten meters high, in an angico tree.
He was dying and trying to escape, clinging to the bark of the tree. Because the snake has great vision during the day, Haroldo hid to film. “If she saw me, she would release prey. The place is not easy, I’m more than ten meters high because I climbed the tree to film from above”, says the expert.
The snake feeds on small animals. For those who think he should save the bat, Haroldo anticipates that “to stay alive, it needs to eat. And he is her food,” he justifies.
As the venom is very potent, he warns not to remove the animal from the snake, as it will be dead shortly afterwards. In addition, he points out that his role is just to record what happens in nature.
